It's time for an update! 2024 was a rough year for me. It had some really awesome things happening, but also some really challenging things that left a dent in me. At New Years, as a silly but also serious new years resolution I said: "2024 kinda sucked, 2025 will be awesome". Well into 2025, like the previous year, good things were happening, but the hard parts from 2024 had left me exhausted and I couldn't really see a change. It felt like I could never rest up. I slowly realized "So far, 2025 isn't awesome!" I had to keep my new years resolution! I had to change the course of things. I applied for 6 months leave from work and it got accepted, so from September 1st I'll work full time as a comic artist and illustrator! I've had some time to rest and recover over the summer, and now I'm ready to dive into DRAWING! I'll be working on Black Lamb and develop other comic concepts (I hope HeLL(P) will continue!!), I hope to send my illustration portfolio to publishers and go on conventions:
My main focus will be Black Lamb book two! I've already made a lot of progress over the summer, and I can't wait to make those big steps forward. I make a lot of updates and text posts on my Patreon, mostly because it feels a bit off for me to write long things on social media like twitter and instagram. However, it's nice to have a place to share updates and so on, so I will try do that once in a while here! So what are some recent happenings? "Freden og andre historier": The Norwegian publisher Überpress recently published a book with a collection of my previous works for the Überpress anthology! It's available here (only in Norwegian). It got some really fun reviews from Empirix, Serienett and even DN! Honestly the feedback was a bit surprising, I wanted the book to be made, but as they're all older works I didn't really have any expectations, so I'm very flattered! It's also been a huge motivational and inspirational boost for me. The book even got support from "innkjøpsordningen", meaning it will be in libraries all over Norway!! "Black Lamb/Sort Lam": My new webcomic "Black Lamb" was launched in May! So far there's 9 pages available, both in Norwegian and English. This comic will update when pages are ready (Several at the time), rather than weekly (one pagers) like HeLL(P) is. Later, the comic will be published by Überpress. I'm hoping to post the next bulk of pages soon! "Platform Comics 10K challenge, Hell Racer": From July 13th-20th, Jonathan James and I participated in a wild contest called the 10k challenge by Platform Comics, where we got a theme and a line of dialogue. We had to make a comic out of it within 10k minutes, aka approx. 7 days! Together we brainstormed ideas, then he wrote the story and I drew it. It was pretty insane, but I'm so happy with the result! I've done the contest before, and it's always such an insane ride, but also a reminder of how much you can get done in a short amount of time when you have to! Our theme: "Secret drag racing club" Dialogue: "Let it burn" (Read the comic at the bottom of this blog post!) So what's on the calendar? August 5th, 2022: Vinter and I are going to a small festival in Stavanger, Norway called "Munkehagen" November 12-13th, 2022: Vinter and I are going to "Thought Bubble" in Leeds! We'll be selling HeLL(P), Love Spells and stickers! I'm hoping to have a small "Black Lamb" teaser zine with me too :D |
